Dear Friends,
I am so excited to tell you about my book – Straight From the Breast! While most of you know about my experiences after I was diagnosed with breast cancer a few years ago, to a few of you, this may be news. Yes … it happened to me. One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. Think of eight women you know—and then think of me. It happened to me. Not only once, but twice! This is some real stuff and it’s one of the reasons I chose to publish my story. I mean…I’m someone you actually KNOW. I’m not someone you know of because someone’s mother’s sister’s girlfriend’s niece had the disease. Ya know? This is personal. This is my story.
Yes, I wrote my story with the hopes of having it embrace you. It may even make you empathize with me, shed a tear, or laugh out loud. And while you will find humor in my story, my circumstances weren’t always funny and the disease itself is not funny at all. Breast cancer is serious business and while I hope that my story will inspire and encourage you to overcome any obstacle you may face in your life, I also hope that it brings awareness to this disease.
What excites me most is having this opportunity to share my story with you … in my own words … written by me! Can I just say it? “I’M AN AUTHOR Y’ALL!” I’ve always dreamed of writing a book and having it published and my day has come. My breast cancer story and this book are both testaments of what’s possible. I’m incredibly grateful and truly humbled to share with you my story and I invite you to share in my joy.
