NIRI Houston Programs

The Southwest Conference

The Texas Chapters hosts a Southwest Regional Conference each year – usually in August.  This year  the Houston Chapter hosted the SWC in San Antonio at the Hotel Contessa along the Riverwalk on August 17-19th. The conference, Mission IR: Possible, was set up as an interactive case study – taking the group through a “live” crisis communications exercise. The agenda also included a range of panels, discussions and workshops based on current industry and top of mind IR topics. Last year’s conference, held in New Orleans, had about 100 attendees and focused on topics such a measuring IR effectiveness, succession planning and activism, effective buy and sell side strategies, and mergers and acquisitions from an IR perspective. It also provided a great opportunity to network with a more regional base of Investor Relations professionals. This is an incredible educational opportunity as well as networking venue to meet Investor Relations professionals from across the southwest region.
